The CE marking was primarily created to guarantee safe products for the end user within the European Economic Area, which comprises 30 contracting states, including the EC. Products to which one or more of the EU directives apply due to their nature or condition must bear the CE marking before they are first placed on the market or put into service. All applicable directives must be taken into account. The CE marking is therefore only useful or necessary for a product if one or more of the relevant EU directives, standards and regulations can be applied to this product due to its nature or condition.
All MENTOR products are compound elements that are installed in our customers’ products. They are therefore not part of those product groups for which CE marking is necessary, permissible or helpful. Therefore, CE conformity has no relevance for MENTOR products.
