The light experts at Mentor are development partners and series suppliers in the field of product-integrated lighting systems for global customers from the automotive and non-automotive field. The focus is on realising individual customer solutions: today, the company achieves over 80% of its sales with customised solutions and this figure is set to rise in future. As a result, even supposedly marginal issues such as information security come to the fore.
“Our customised light projects almost always involve strictly confidential new products for our customers, as well as very specific technological know-how on both sides. The issues of non-disclosure and information security are extremely sensitive as a result,” says Detlef Reintges, Head of Sales. “We feel that requirements in this area will increase significantly and that this aspect is gaining an increasing strategic significance with our customers when it comes to their choice of partners.”
Following last year’s certification of its development and production site in Erkrath to the TISAX® (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) standard, defined by the automotive industry, Mentor’s information security management system has now also been certified to international standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013. This standard specifies the requirements for the set-up, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a documented information security management system.
Detlef Reintges: “Our business is based not just on our competence, but also on the confidence shown in us by our customers. This certification by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH, as an independent external auditor, means Mentor is able to meet the increased information security requirements for information security, thereby documenting our compliance with the highest security standards. We reliably protect confidential data and information, whether that is in written, spoken or digital format, and ensure the integrity and availability of our IT systems.”Download Press Release
